Two hours....two chores and big sigh!........

It has been a little more than two hours that I have been in kitchen post lunch cleaning up. Today I cleaned my refrigerator( monthly deep cleaning ) and mocrowave oven. And phew! It took me sooo...long and now I am really tired and deserve to be here and relax.
My daughters were helpful. Elder one cleaned up the dishes post lunch while younger one wiped the dining table and cleaned kitchen shelf.
Now here I am and I will be online for another 1-2 hours.
Actually in some time ( in another 10 minutes to be precised), my elder daughter's graduation ceremony /Award ceremony/ Valedictory ceremony is going to begin. She recently graduated from her High School with flying colors and has moved to Senior Secondary or Pre University. This function generally happens live in school by end of May or in first week of June. But the pandemic made things delayed and they kept postponing it in the hope that we can have it physically soon. It's already one term on new academic year over and physical school reopening seems to be a distant hope.
So finally they decided to do it virtually through YouTube live.
This was an important milestone in her life and she had all plans for a physical ceremony since her last year in High School. But the pandemic ruined it. Anyway she is now okay with the virtual celebration
We both have logged in from our respective laptops. There is a program list with few speakers addressing these students, Award announcement for top performers( and she features in it ) and then encouragement from the Principal and a counselor who will be answering many questions( they have already sent theirs through mail) regarding the stress and anxiety and challenges these children are facing in this crisis and house arrest situation.
So we have a long program. My daughter is already nostalgic seeing her school auditorium set as background. She misses her school so much. She will definitely be glued to the program in her laptop. But I might switch in between windows to mylot That's the point of taking separate laptops but we are sitting next to each other

It is Graduation ceremony and there is one valedictory chosen from students to deliver a talk. So it is my daughter who was selected. She recorded and sent it.

@piyushbhatia1 It is Graduation Day. They just cleared their Class X board exam and have moved to XI in the same school campus but in a different building with different set ups and teachers.

It would have been a great excitement day otherwise. Though they beautifully planned and presented, the fun of a physical graduation is missing. You don't get to give group hugs and throw off your hats in air. They form a lifetime memories.

That sounds like an interesting program.
We had an online PTM some time back. The online classes are an altogether new experience for us.
Yet sometimes the kids have a tendency to spend too much time in front of different systems.

Yes kids are losing out on so much.
And being confined to homes can be tough at times.

It was no where close to the real graduation ceremony with fun, food, party etc. But yes they tried their best to put it together and it was a beautiful sober event. But then who doesn't like to throw graduation hats, group hugs, group pics and all that blast that you have on a physical graduation ceremony. My elder one is missing her games, to be on school team. Also being a Science student she is missing on her laboratory experiments. That was one reason she loves Science. She is one child who learns by doing things.

Congratulations to your daughter. Valedictorian is a very high honor.
I am glad you are getting some chores done. I need to do a deep clean of the bathroom again.

Thank you. It was indeed a proud moment for her as well as us. I clean my bathroom daily. And I keep Sundays for a deep cleaning. So today I did the deep cleaning of bathroom.

I totally agree. I am also a teacher and I can say virtual classes are so exhaustive and it definitely misses the joy of learning in a physical set up. Children are missing a lot on their holistic development with no social interactions and extra curriculum.
