When you're sweet tooth and you're artistic eye collides, well here is the result lol.
I took this photo earlier when I got bored and had an inkling with sweets. I didn't go all the way and wasn't really wanting to consume some hard candy or any of some sort since I am working back in shape so I decided to munch some Filipino sweet treat that's sugary but also at the same time filling.
This sweet pastry is called "Hopia" it's a popular Filipino snack made of thin pastry. Traditionally it's filled with mung bean paste filling but you can also get some varieties like Purple yam or Flan flavor. I got myself the original Mung bean filling.
This treat is also popular across Southeast Asian countries particularly in Indonesia. Historically, it is introduced by the Fujianese immigrants in the urban centers around the turn of the twentieth century and is widely known for treats for families or relatives visiting in the household.
What's your favorite sweet indulgence? Have you tried hopia?
