New York, New York, a wonderful town, The Bronx is up, but the Battery's down. Yep, were moving our trivia quiz to the East Coast to visit the town that never sleeps! Frank Sinatra and Gene Kelly paid New York City a great tribute in song in the 1949 musical "On The Town." And to put us in a "New York Groove" is a video number by Ace Frehley. Enjoy the tune... Ok, here are your clues to the songs which have New York in their titles. Whodunnit? 1. This Long Island based artist loves New York, as this tune reflects just how much he missed his state while living in LA for 4 years. This song was a track off his Turnstiles album, with three of his tunes referencing and celebrating his return to his native New York City. With this album the musician was saying "goodbye to Hollywood" and all it's decadence. In his personal life this artist was married to a famous Sports Illustrated cover model. With 5 Grammy Awards and an album of the year this "Piano Man" has had an amazing music career. -Can you name his NY song and the famous piano player who sang this tune? 2. This mystery title was the theme song for a Martin Scorsese musical which came out in 1977, and the tune was sung by Liza Minnelli for the film. It wasn't until this artist recorded this song for his album Trilogy: Past Present Future in 1980 that it became popular. This tune was the singer's last Top 40 hit in his long career and became one of his signature songs. Of the many songs written about this city no song has captured the pride and elegance quite like this one. The first line of the song is: "Start spreadin' the news, I'm leaving today, I want to be a part of it" and the closing lines "If I can make it there, I'm gonna make it anywhere, it's up to you..." are lyrics which sums up the singer's feelings. Which as the artist states with an optimistic view, if you succeed here your the "king of the hill, the top of the heap." And this artist certainly was... -Do you know this New Jersey born singer and the NY song he made so popular? 3. Bonus- This artist enjoyed not only a successful music career but one in films too. He was part of an ensemble cast in this 1953 movie which included Montgomery Clift and Burt Lancaster. He was so good portraying this serious character Maggio, he received a Best Supporting Actor and Golden Globe award. The film is about the lives of these service men leading up to the attack on Pearl Harbor. The movie contained a classic scene between Burt Lancaster and Deborah Kerr in the rushing water on the beach with the waves hitting them. -Do you know the name of this drama romance war film and the artist who received the Best Supporting Oscar? Ok, let's "state the obvious" with some correct song and artist answers. Remember a name of a U.S. state is part of the song title. If your stuck and need additional hints just let me know in your response. Or as the group The Four Tops might say, "Reach Out and I'll Be There." Thanks for reading and responding to my music post!!! Until next Saturday... Source- Wikipedia & songfacts.com Photo- freepik.com

Yes, #2 is right #1 His first name was Billy. His former spouse was an "Uptown Girl" Christie Brinkley. And he was in a "New State of Mind" when he wrote that song. Yes, you might know that classic movie with the famous beach scene between Burt Lancaster and Debra Kerr. Good thing there was no seaweed in the water. Should I tell you the answers?
