Hello Everyone!! I am a new myLot user. Hope y'all doing good.
Who among you here have pets?
I just want to share my cute turtle whom I consider as my younger brother. I named Michael after the Ninja Turtle's Michaelangelo. He loves to walk around the house and plays a lot. He's quite big now. Michael celebrated his fourth birthday last May 10.
My best wishes to your pets!!

Welcome to mylot. Enjoy mylotting. I don`t have a pet but I love seeing cats and dogs around I think it is hard to take care of turtle because when they grow bigger they will be heavy and need to live at the beach

@cathypg What I mean is that they really grow big and can`t be carried anymore.

Thank you. Actually, you don't need to let them live in the beach. Michael is a freshwater turtle, meaning he can just live in an aquarium without the need to go to the beach. Also, he's a REST (Red-Eared Slider Turtle). And yes they grow bigger as they grow old.

Welcome to myLot ! At one of the childcare places I work at we have a turtle named Gus--he's eleven or twelve years old, I think. Pet-wise I have a dog named Angel.

Is Michael 4 years old? That's fine for you were able to raise him that long. By the way welcome.

@cathypg i didn't know there's turtle food. i thought you just feed them fruits and vegetables. is there anything that's forbidden/dangerous to turtles?

@hereandthere Yes, they also eat fruits and vegetables ocassionally but not everyday since they need calcium to grow their shells. Their turtle food is already complete, filled with all the vitamins and minerals they needed. You mean forbidden to eat? Not at all, they are omnivorous. I sometimes fed them with feeders (small fishes) as well.
