This is the first time the award show exiting venues and no live-audience but instead pre-recorded materials as well as virtual audiences for the safety of artists, fans, and performers. This measures includes social distancing procedures.
Lady Gaga and Ariana Grande were one of the artists that perfomerd during the awards celebration opening with their hit song "Rain on Me". Both artist followed with the guidelines and were singing responsibly belting their vocal prowess while wearing a facemask. The two also bragged awards while Lady Gaga received the first ever MTV Tricon award.
