Good News

I just got home and I'm eating for the first time today, so I made it extra large because I'm starving.
My orthopedic appointment went very well. They can't do both knees at the same time. However, I'm still having both done, six weeks apart. They took X-rays which showed what I already knew. Both knees are bone on bone. He asked me which one was worse. I told him they take turns on which will be worse that day. He understood that just from looking at the X-rays.
There was a conflict with the date for the second surgery, but I'll take care of that at the hospital next week. The second surgery is scheduled the day before my injection. I'll need to schedule it the week before since I can't wait 3 weeks to do it.
I won't be going into the nursing home. I told my son I need someone to stay with me for two days. I'll be staying with him.
So my first surgery is September 21 at 12:45. I need to arrive at the hospital by 9:30. The second is November 2 at 9:45. I need to arrive at the hospital by 6:45.
It looks like knee replacement is my Christmas present this year and my cataract surgery was my birthday present. It's a great year!
I'll only be in the pool for the next two weeks and then I won't be back until just before Christmas or after New Year's.
When we talked about my having the surgery, he checked my range of motion on both knees and told me I checked yes on all boxes to have it done. He also said to keep doing what I'm doing to lose weight and keep up the exercise I'm doing. I asked him about water therapy. He said we would be talking about therapy later, but said water was very good, and I also needed to get on the bike in the fitness center. He liked that I am getting upwards of 20K steps per day and told me to keep it up.
Before surgery, I'll be attending a couple of classes to prepare for the surgery. I'm excited. By Christmas, I'll be pain-free.
That's my good news. How is your day going? Picture courtesy of Pixabay.

@moffittjc What, I'm Wonder Woman now? I like keeping my feet firmly planted on the ground. Heights scare me silly.
