Now that classes are opening, would you send your kids to school?

Parents are given the choice to opt for a face to face encounter in the classroom or for online lessons. What would you choose?
For me, I would rather let my kid learn at home because of the increasing cases. Some are asymptomatic and would not show symptoms even if they have COVID. They are required to wear masks, but the virus would find ways to infect people.
What about you? What would you choose?

For now the best solution is that the government will fund students to have education remotely since it's really difficult at the moment to go have a physical class most especially that the number of cases are staggering. Online classes are good but not everyone can afford it. I hope this pandemic end soon. Thanks for sharing.

When we had the choice we choice 2 day at school and 3 day at home. But school board decided that all of the first half of the year to be long distance learning so we start on the 8th with that.

@Jenaisle not holding my breath on it. It was a long fight between parents and the school boards I didn’t participate because there was no good solution that didn’t affect someone kids more then another.

I am glad I am not faced with that decision. I think I would try to send them maybe on some kind of modified schedule. Safety is paramount.

no matter what the medium is , i think for me its up to the children if they want to learn or not. Some kids go to school but still they are not able to learn all of them.

I know what you mean, kids should be self-motivated to be able to learn. Parents will have a crucial role in doing this for their young kids. As for college students, they should be responsible enough to learn by themselves even without supervision. Thanks.

I don't have kids but if I did I would send them to school.
The unfortunate fact is c19 is going to be around for a while and life can not come to a standstill.
Kids learning has been impacted and also mental health.
One important statistic to know is ifr which is infection fatality rate, that means the percentage of infected people who die.
There is no definitive number yet as the pandemic is ongoing but from what I've read in the serious scientific publications it may be around 0.5 to 1%.
That being said it kills certain groups more than others but kids aren't in the at risk group but people they may pass the infection on to may be.

Well, I think no one or only few parents consider a face to face learning during this critical times...
