I feel like after so many months of struggling, September may be the month where I turn a corner. Things are starting to look up for me, although I haven't seen the benefits quite yet.
Assuming my paperwork gets processed, I will finally see the money that has been garnished out of my daughter's father's paycheck. So, that's a plus. Then there is the subject of unemployment. That has been such a headache. I asked my state senator to get involved, because although my case was approved, no payments have been made. The EDD has been swamped, and the governor hired more people, but the backlog is insane. My backpay is nearly $8000 and grows daily. The person at the state senator's office working on my case is meeting with a liaison tomorrow and hopefully my case will get sorted.
Next week is my daughter's 4th birthday. I want to make it special for her. Right now, I don't have a cent to my name, and I have no idea how I'm going to feed these kiddos. Altogether, I'm looking at almost $10K this month, if I'm lucky, with most of it going to pay back bills, like rent, that I haven't been able to keep up with since this crisis hit us.
I am very thankful that my children are safe and we are all healthy, but I'm really concerned about the economic ramifications that this pandemic will have on all of us.
Are you as stressed and as scared as I am?
I hope that you are all well and in a good place :)

That is true, but my worry is all of the people who have their retirement money in the stock market. If this economy gets too much worse, it could affect everyone. I'm so glad to hear that you are doing well though. You're one of my favorite people here! Stay well :)
