Amazon Scam
The other day i received a phone call from someone claiming to be an Amazon employee.the caller, (which i could tell was a recording) claimed that someone tried to use my Amazon account to purchase a $789.00 ipad and i should stay on the line to straighten things out.
(lol).Naturally i hung up immediately but the call upset me enough where i had to call my credit card company and Amazon as well and of course the whole thing was a scam.
Do you often get calls like this?and if so, do you report the caller as i did?

I don’t pick up any number that isn’t in my cell phone. So if someone calls and the number with no name comes up I wait for them to leave a message. I do get text like that some times or fake emails and all I do is go to my amazon account or whatever account they are talking about that a purchase was made from and see if it’s true or not.

@ShyBear88 That's true, even though i know Amazon doesn't call ,i have to admit that the call got me a little shaken up that's why i contacted them right away

@jujunme it’s supper easy to copy numbers but Amazon themselves will never call you first. They will always give you a number by email or text for text support.

@jujunme you should make the credit card company aware of the ongoing scam

@amitkokiladitya That's a good idea but, these people make up different names and call from all different numbers so, the credit card company's wouldn't know who to block

@marguicha That's what i did since i knew right away it was a scam but ,there are people who believe what the caller is saying and end up giving away their identity.and their money.

No. I installed a call blocker on my phone. It blocks any calls or messages not on my list.
