Yes! I fully agree with you that skipping is a great way of burning calories and keeping ourselves fit! This work out or the exercise is gaining the popularity now a days for its easy to perorm and doesn't require much of costly equipment!
However the only set back with this exercise is that it can have ill effects on the joints in elderly people!
