This Isn't What I Signed Up For

When I started on this road to better health and weight loss four years ago so I could lose weight and get my knee replacement surgeries, I didn't realize it would be so awesome and limiting at the same time.
Right now, I should be at church waiting for the service to start. Instead, I'm here and soon I'll be on FB for the online service. Why? I got a stack of papers in the mail yesterday from the Orthopedic and when I got to really reading it last night, right on the first page it says I can't go anywhere now except for essentials and medical appointments. They don't want me exposed to COVID-19. I can understand that, but it just doesn't seem right to limit everything I do. I sent my pool buddy a message letting her know I won't be at the pool next week. I was hoping for at least one more week in the pool.
The good thing about this isolation is that I'll have a lot more time to work on Vendetta. I might even get my notifications caught up. I'm behind again. At least by Christmas, I'll have a new pair of knees and hopefully, I'll be pain-free too. Someone at the pool told me it will take up to a year before it's fully healed. I've also been told by those who had the surgery how great they feel after they had it done. I want that to be my story too. How great I feel when it's done.
Okay, that's my tiff for today. I promise the rest will be all positive. What's happening in your life you didn't sign up for? Thanks for reading. The image belongs to me. This is me when I started this health journey to get where I am today with knee replacement two weeks away.

Well, I can understand very well that doctors do not want to put at risk other patients. As the incubation of the virus is 14 days, this is a legitimate request from them. It's not to restrain your freedom, it is to protect themselves and the other patients.

If there's a lot of new infections in your area, I can understand their consern. The average incubation time is 5-6 days, isn't it? So with two weeks you should be pretty sure you don't have anything, no normal flu either.
My biggest problem right now is that the weather is good but I've got some work to do. I'm not sure if other nationalities face this problem the same way as we do here, but being inside when the weather is good is really not something you'd boast about. *glares at sun* I could work a bit and then go for a walk ...

YOu've come a long way. Oh! My mom had her hip replaced. They tell joint replacement people to be really careful about infections and the like. And that was before the pandemic.
I know it's not the same, but online fitness classes have helped me greatly through all this. If it's hard to do some of them, I found some seated exercises on youtube free last year when my knee was bothering

@FayeHazel No, I'm stuck inside. I can get groceries and do my laundry like during the lockdown. Essentials, but that's it. I'll be out of the apartment for quite a while tomorrow. I have a hospital appointment and I'm doing groceries afterward. I should do laundry, we'll see what happens. I can wait until Friday if necessary.

My mom just had her right knee replaced a few days ago. It is hard to tell the difference it makes in not having so much pain while everything will have to regain strength. In the end, you and she will feel much better in not having to deal with the pain. I went through a right hip replacement six years ago and the pain difference was immediate. It was hard to walk at first but the physical therapy help get back to 'normal'- if you call being Superman normal. Don't worry, the pain from the knee will be instantly gone. You will almost forget how bad things were before the surgery. From my experience the therapy is to help the muscles get back to normal from being moved and stretched during surgery. Good luck.

I'm so proud of you! You've come such a long way over the past few years! Keep up the great work, even on the days where you don't think you are getting any results. It's a slow and steady marathon, not a sprint race, and right now you are doing great and taking the lead!

Sorry you can't go anywhere. I do understand why they say that. I would be disappointed too,

I guess there is one thing about it that you can work on your book. I hope you will be pain free and you are doing really great on your journey. This was your post and what is going on in my life is the same thing that I have been dealing with so do not want to continue repeating myself.

Oh wow, that would be frustrating to have to be so limited.....but I guess it does make sense that they don't want you exposed to that. Christmas will be here before we know it!

Hubby is not feeling really well this morning. We are not going to church. I will catch it on FB. I will stay home and "do stuff". Look at how much you have changed while working on your overall health! Yes, it does take time to completely heal from any surgery. I have never had knee or hip replacement, just a joint in one toe. It did take it quite some time for swelling to go down, like two years for me to be able to wear the size shoe I had before. I think that was because I had to walk on it. You will do great. You are good at following instructions. All the best to you. Look at the isolation as time to work on other things.

I'm sorry your hubby isn't feeling well this morning. I hope he feels better soon. I hope the online service was good. My associate pastor spoke on walking in the Spirit.
I'm sure walking on it made it take longer to heal.
Thank you. Yes, I'll be working on Vendetta.
