Today I Looked At Plants

United States
September 7, 2020 8:04pm CST
Hope you all had a very nice day. I looked on the internet for plants that grow in my zone, which is 8. I never had any idea of how many plants and flowers there really are. But what surprised me the most is all of the special items, that can be of help to a person. I thought that was pretty neat. I went to the market, yesterday just so not to run out. My son took the grocery out of the jeep. He came in and said I had, just passed by a snake. The visitor that had come had ran over one and killed it, way down our road. Shook up. I haven't been outside today.

We can get a free flyer at our garden centers with the list of all the plants (and vegetables) that we can grow in our area.

I will check our out. The place I was looking was online. Don't think I want to deal with that.

@LadyDuck I don't blame you, I hate cold weather. I hate to go outside, let alone be in a garden.

@popciclecold I plant vegetables in Spring for summer, but I am planting nothing for winter. I do not go out in the garden when it's too cold.

That would have been scary, hearing about the snake.

Yes, it had almost made me change my mind. We live like in the middle of what used to be a pasture. So many trees and bushes here. When we first moved here, a lady was out picking blueberries, and someone told me that snakes be in the bushes to catch the birds. I don't know but I never had anything for gardening since.

@popciclecold Snakes don't really worry me too much although I am always on the lookout for them. Thankfully we don't get too many here.

Zone 8 is where I live in Mississippi, it tells you what plants are good for my area.

@sol_cee I suppose since they're in business, and have an online business, they may get customers from all over.

@popciclecold wow that’s nice that you are able to know what plants are suitable in your area. How do they that?

I love a jeep. Our roads are so bad, we need a jeep or truck to get to our house.

I like looking at flowers. They are just beautiful and somehow, when you are stressed out at work, they help calm you down. Fortunately, our workplace has a little garden where flowers grow, and we have some plants too. There are no snakes, thankfully. There were some stray snakes out in our garden at home, but they die sooner or later from the almighty rocks we throw at it. I could not understand how people can keep snakes as pets though... Do you know why? (haha)
