Help me to loose weight

I am a newbie on cycling. I hav plan to follow a grandfondo with my bicycle. Now I am afraid to be the slowest rider in my peloton. Some told me, the lighter our weight, the faster we are. But my weight is increasing about 7 kgs from my ideal weight ( 73 kg ) Do you think it is possible to loose some weights in a short time?

@adriyud Welcome to My Lot. Some can lose weight in a short period of time, but, then do they keep it off? I believe that one has to want to find a way to lose weight for them only. It really does take time to lose weight. One has to find a way to take those pounds of and keep them off. I used to go on diets but found they are not the answer because I would gain the weight back. About 3 years ago I somehow found my own journey to lose weight. I stopped eating in between meals and do not snack. I drink in between meals and do not eat. I gave up lots of things and still eat some gradually. I used to look at food and gain weight. Now, I can look at food and n ot want it. I also exercise and walk when can and do a walking video online. So that is my journey and wanted to share it with you.

@adriyud What I will say one needs patience and time and not to hurry things along. If you find a journey that fits your needs then follow it.
