I downloaded Second Life (from one of our supporters), and started playing it without reading 'the manual' or 'the instructions' or whatever you're supposed to read. (Maybe that's what leads me to my Second Life goal! But ... we'll get back to that ...) I downloaded it & went through the first tutorial ... it basically shows you how to move around & change your look & buy new costumes-&-items & take picture & fly over roadblocks ... but it doesn't tell you WHY you're there or HOW you got there or WHAT you're there to do! Their "wiki" http://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Goals_of_Second_Life basically says 'there's lots of fun things you can do.' But it doesn't tell you "why you're there." (to make money? to start a family? to rule the kingdom? to fight ninjas? to build buildings?) That's why I'm thinking I should become 'a Second Life Philosopher'---answering the big questions 'why are we here?' 'who or what put us here?' 'what do they-or-those want us to do here?'

My Friend loves it. I have tried it a couple of times and the point of it goes totally over my head
