Sunset over the Rockies

It's kind of strange that I took this picture only four days ago. I took the "Western" route home to California from our family cabin in the Judith Mountains of Central Montana. This is taken from the roadkill 2-lane highway (I think it's called MT 200) that takes one from Great Falls Montana to Missoula Montana. I even get to drive through Lincoln MT, where the "Unibomber" lived. Anyway, this is what the sunset looked like as I drove. I had no idea what I would see the next day as I neared Portland via I-90 along the Columbia River Gorge.

@TheHorse I know where they are on earth. I was wondering where they were in your photo.

They run from Western Canada (Alberta, I think) down through the Western United States (Montana, Idaho, and on down).

@just4him I admit that I am glad to be home. Being off the grid was odd, given the weather conditions in Montana and the fires to the West.

I decided to post the thing before it disappeared on me. I thought I was going to get an error message. The picture is up now.

@NJChicaa It was a nice crisp evening, and my "new" truck was running well. A good moment.

Very peaceful. I don't blame you for going to the cabin when you get a chance.

@CarolDM Yep. But we had snow up there on the 4th of July one Summer, so you never really know.

Yes, the sky is brown here. I don't think our neighborhood is in any immediate danger.

Not my best "sunset shot." But it captures what was a really relaxing moment for me.

That is a great photo! "Unibomber" - is that signifying some famous person or some historical figure? And how did your plants do in your absence?

Yes, I was out on a very quiet highway. I was a really nice moment. "Relaxing" is the right word.

Your real name is Rocky? Heh. There are stories about how the Judith Mountains got their name. But I don't know which one is true. Daughter (back East) of a "pioneer," I think.
