It's my lunch break....

Good afternoon. It's 1 PM here and I have got an hour long lunch break. Done with the classes for the day. Now post lunch, I have to meet the last three sets of parents. And that would cover all the parents that I needed to meet for Parents Teacher meet for this term. I have been working long hours since Friday and even worked on Saturday to get done with these meetings. So once it's over today, it would be a big sigh of relief for me
I took no mid morning break today. In fact I schedule one meeting during that. And now I am quite hungry. Also the aroma of a delicious meal filling the house is making my mouth water and I am finding it tough to wait. My daughters and husband should get their lunch break in some time.
It's rajma masala( spicy kidney beans curry) with basmati rice today. And we have fresh home made curd and cucumber, carrot and onion salad as side dish.
I am not able to upload my picture of rajma rice here despite of resizing the picture. So here I use another picture. My food looks exactly like that.
Till I wait for my family to join, let me just mylot myself to distract myself from hunger and the tempting aroma

It's very popular meal here. Rice is our staple food... We have it 2_3 times in a week. We include other grains and milletes for health reason.

What problem do you face?? Maybe because it is not your staple food, you might not be used to it. It is easy to cook.It just takes little more time to cook ( depending on the rajma variety.)

@arunima25 for eating those I don't get any issue. But try to boiled rajma I getting a problem.
It does not cook faster, taking huge time, any tips for faster cooking those.
I try to soak and cook also, but it does not cook correctly. Getting harder, not cook properly.

@Lavanya15 They take long time to cook. People add soda for faster cooking but I don't do that. Dark red ones take longer time than lighter ones. But still they need few whistles and cooking on sim for 20-30 minutes.

Haha! It's one of the most popular dishes in our country. I am a wonderful cook... Have got enough compliments and I like to host lunch and dinner parties. But this pandemic has put all that on halt.
I would love to have you here at my place.

It's yummy and a protein rich meal.
Well cooking is not much of effort. But yes kidney beans might take long to get cooked. But then you can do everything and leave it in cooker on stove

Especially with these children. I have deliberately kept some rajma for my daughters for dinner. Else they would make all faces seeing onlu karela( bittergourd) in dinner.

That's a big relief now and I can get back to my normal routine. And we are done with these meetings till year end.
Good that I didn't have to wait too long for rest to join. If they were delayed by another minute, I too would have started nibbling
