Walking with Alpacas

Last August I had the pleasure of visiting an alpaca farm in the Isle of Wight. It’s called WestWight Alpacas. One of the activities they offer was walking with Alpaca. And I’d say one of the best moments in my life.
Walking an alpaca is a bit trickier than a dog. Because first, they are significantly taller, stronger, and faster than us and may end up dragging us if they think we are not dominant. Second, they tend to spit when they are angry or scared. Third, they will tend to follow whatever the front alpaca is doing may it be eating the bush or pooping.
We had a walk around the park and I was initially scared but ended up being attached to my brown alpaca.

I’m not sure how old these ones are. They are smaller than the Llamas though.

Thank you Marlina. I actually didn’t want to pose it as I look very fat but the alpacas are too cute not to share.

I have seen free alpacas while going to an excursion to a very high lake in my country. They were quite tame, as the people who lived there told us.

They are pretty tamed. Those alpacas that you met don’t spit on people?

They are I wish I could adopt one. But I think not since they are a herd.
