This month's GQ Magazine states that the phrase "People of Color" needs to die.
Damon Young explains it https://www.gq.com/story/author-damon-young-on-bipoc-phrasing with this example: an Extra-Terrestrial comes to America and wonders about 'what we call Black people': "Wait, so 'colored person ' is bad?"
America replies, "Yes."
"But 'people of color' is good?"
"Yes."
"Hmm ... that 'N-word' is bad too, right?"
"Very much so."
"What about 'people of nigg--"
"Whoa! No!"
He mentions the acronym BIPOC, and doesn't explain that it stands for "Black, Indigenous & People of Color." I can see who (in that context) 'People of Color' is referring-to ... the Yellows and Browns (and maybe Whites, but probably not).
But what other phrases can you think of that need to die? One I think of is "I need you to pray for me." If you want me to explain 'why that phrase should die, ask me in the comments.
I'm more interested in what additional phrases need to die ... maybe with a little explanation of why they need to die.
