I know many people who keep themselves on Fasting.
People are on the fasting for various reasons.
They fast for the religious beliefs they have, for the sake of their fitness, for some medical reasons and at times just for no reason!
I have never been on fasting deliberately or voluntarily !
I just had to be on fasting when my pathologist asked me to be on fasting which is essential for some blood tests!
Have you ever tried the fasting? Your take on this will be appreciated!

Fasting is good for the body. It's time for the stomach to rest.
Your blood test okay?

Yes! That is what the literature say about the fasting that it is good for the stomach and the digestive track! I go for the routine check up after I have undergone my Angioplasty which is almost ok every time I go for it! Thanks for the concern! Take care and stay blessed!

@AKRao24 Angioplasty is a minor procedure. Hmmm, you must watch your diet. Eat healthy always. Veer away from tasty food. Bland takes a 'getting used to' but is good for the body. Take care of the heart.

@eileenleyva , I agree that the procedure is minor and I have watched the whole procedure while it was being done! But the problem is not with the procedure , it is after the procedure , how much area got affected and what part of the heart got affected etc. this can be only done by various tests to assess the functioning of the heart!

I've only ever done it when I had to, like you, before taking tests. I have no religious reason to fast. As for health reasons, I'm not sure how it would be any more healthy than just eating a more balanced diet. Even if I tried to fast, I don't think I could. Yesterday was probably the closest I have ever been to fasting - I forgot to have breakfast and then only had half a sandwich - but then I did have a proper meal in the evening!

It becomes mandatory to undertake fasting when asked to do so for medical reasons! But I can never go on fasting for religious reasons! Like it has happened with you, it has happened with me several times in the past when I skipped my breakfast and lunch and just had my dinner because of my work. In fact many a time I used to have only one meal per day because of the work during the season!

Muslims in our country fast during Ramadan, there are also those who fast sunnah every Monday and Thursday. I fasted just before Easter, according to my religious advice.

@Vicentbayu , Yes! I understand what you are saying! I think most of the religious fastings have the same motto behind the fasting! It has the motto of self Control and salvation!

@AKRao24 When fasting, we have one full meal, we can choose our own morning, afternoon or evening. Please distinguish between eating and eating your heart's content. Because the purpose of abstinence is also to practice self-control, so if we break our fast / when we are full, we also continue to eat as usual, not too much. Also eating full once a day does not mean we can eat snacks / snacks many times a day.
The benchmark is self-control and a desire to share a little of our suffering and sacrifice with Jesus' sacrifice for the salvation of the world.

Oh yes I had done volunteering and involuntarily fasting. For volunteering fasting, I had done intermittent fasting for 16 hours.
For non volunteering fasting, I had once lasted for 20 hours without eating because I am too busy and by the time I am done and I was on another event, I realised thast I had not eaten for 20 hours even through I do not actually feel hungry on that day.

May I know the reason why you are on voluntary fasting? I mean if you are doing it for health reasons or for religious reasons!
Yes, I too had several Fastings involuntarily because of my work! Very often I used to skip one meal because of my work during the season!
