You may find it weird but I am eating a salted egg and ice cream at the moment. I don't know why I suddenly have craved for it. Salted eggs are ducks eggs soaked in brine and packing each egg in a damp salted charcoal. We usually eat them with tomatoes but right now, I am eating them with ice cream. Have you ever tried salted eggs Photo is from Google

No I have not, I also have never eaten duck eggs. I do like to put a little salt or else salsa on my eggs.

Okay. Salted egg is a Chinese cuisine. So, I think it is not common in western countries.

Interesting combination! I've never had that kind of salted egg - and definitely not with ice cream . I do like boiled eggs with salt - and I could see having ice cream for dessert afterwards.

@Janet357 Oh - like the Chinese red eggs? I don't think I've had them, but I may have seen them . . . these can be bought at Asian markets, I think?

@Janet357 I never knew people ate duck eggs. Though, with chicken eggs, I have known some people to eat boiled eggs with some salt on top. Not really my thing. I love boiled eggs by itself.

Hi Dani. Yes, I think it depends upon one's culture. Salted is actually a Chinese cuisine which also is ours. They also this one thousand years egg I think. And it smells awful but the taste is good. I tried it when I ate in a Chinese restaurant

@Janet357 I usually boil it together with the rice. It’s nice when it’s warm. It is an instant meal.

I thought salted eggs means hard boiled eggs with pinch of salt. I eat like that but not the way you have described. Never tried duck eggs.

I know about salted eggs, because not far from my place is a salted egg producer. The only thing that amazes me is when you eat salted eggs with ice cream. I thought it was a strange combination.

@Janet357 I like to eat hard boiled eggs with things and put salt on them and they are very good. I put tomatoes in cottage cheese and eat it that way. That is also tasty.
