The lot has been sold

So, when I was walking around I saw that one of the lots on the corner has been sold. Honestly, I didn't even know that property was for sale. The thing is it is very marshy..and to make matters worse, there is a big electrical tower behind it. Now, I don't know anything about construction but I wouldn't think a marshy area would be a good place to build a house...would you? Also, I would never buy a property with a rear view of a rusty electric tower no matter how little it costs. Would you? There are plenty of desirable, shaded nice wooded lots almost across the street. Why buy there?

@m_audrey6788 I wouldn't like looking at that everyday, and what if one of the wires overhead came down on your house or something??

I would hate a close up view of that tower every day, but maybe they are going to rent it, or just come down to the lake on occassion.

I don't care how cheap the lot would be, I would never put a penny on this kind of land

It would be ugly, and you have to really worry about the suitability of building.

I would not build on a marshy area, may be it was cheap, but it's not a good location.

I mean I am assuming they are going to build on it, not sure what else they would use it for really. I guess they could store some boats or something..but they still are gonna need a garage of some kind.

@LadyDuck I will be curious to see what goes there. The people across from there had some extra space and made a pond, but it doesn't look very good. They need a fountain or more aeration or something. It looks like a big mud puddle.

@snowy22315 Even to store something they need to build a garage, this does not sound a good place.

I wouldn't care how cheap it wss personally. I wouldn't want to look out over my deck and see a big monstronsity. I am not even sure you can see the water from there either.

It must have been much cheaper than the other available lots. It wouldn't be worth it to me though.

@snowy22315 I agree. They'd need to do a lot of work to the land in order to build.

That does seem strange. I wonder what they'll put there.

I guess someone has their reasons. Maybe it is the most they could afford and they desperately want a block at whatever (non-monetary) cost.

@snowy22315 There must be some reason why they would buy a place like that.

Like you say I'm no expert on building on marshy land but seems a lot of extra work would have to go into making the land safe to build on. Seems to me you might find better land.
