WE have a 13yr old Pit bull he is the greatest with our kids! He really bonded with our son since the day we brought him home from the hospital, 2yrs ago! Here is a pic of the two of them!

I have alway been fond of boxers. Although they are a bit hyperactive as puppies, they are very even tempered and energetic. They are absolutely awesome with kids and they are highly intelligent. Boxers are fiercely loyal as well. Due to the fact they are brachiocephalic (short-snouted, like bulldogs, pugs, etc.) they are prone to respiratory problems, but it doesn't prevent them from leading full lives. They are very expressive and are very regal, cool-looking dogs. I could go on all day.

We have a mix of German Shepard and Collie .... friendly to any child .... also could be educated to follow on commands .... doesn't need to much care for cleaning .... never was sick .... we love our MAYA .... and my kids learned responsability from this relationship

to me it's not the dog it's how you raise it. you teach it to be violent, then you got a problem
