Here's some inspiration for everyone

Hi all! I have a little story to share with everyone. I have a disability that limits the use of my left arm. One of the things I have always wanted to do is learn to play guitar. With my disability, a lot of people tried to discourage me and tell me I wouldn't succeed. I read a story that some of you classic rock fans may remember about how the drummer for Def Leppard lost his arm in a car crash but learned to drum with one arm. So I got to thinking, if he can play with one arm maybe I can too. You might say they "poured some inspiration on me" LOL. I bought a left handed guitar. I use a finger pick on my left hand and I can move my left arm just enough to strum, and low and behold, I learned how to play a few chords and a few simple melodies. I began recording some of my practice time and posting it on Youtube. I want to hopefully inspire others with my message: don't let anything keep you from your dreams. Check out my progress: I welcome any feedback or comments,
I'm getting better!

I don't intend to make money off my videos at this time. I might consider that when I get a bit better. Mostly for right now I'm just playing and having fun.

@jessenr88 oh that's great. Just asking because monetized one is not allowed to put here.

You should show your right (fretting) hand in your next video! are you in an "open" tuning?

@jessenr88 So your strings are tuned to E A D G B E?

@TheHorse Correct. Or as close as possible, according to the app.

I filmed this with my phone so it was hard to get the full picture. I'll work on getting a better shot next time. I tune my guitar using the Fender Tune app on my phone. It's fairly standard.

Good story! I saw a really good band at a Bluegrass Festival. The banjo player had no fingers on his fretting hand. But he didn't let it stop him. He did rolls, etc. just fine.
