okay i grew up in church, my parents always insured that i went to church, every saturday.
i loved going to church but not always, most times i slept till church was over then went home.
but by the time i went to secondary school and my parents stayed in separate houses but sill trying to keep together the relationship.
i was no longer going to church anymore but i did try to start back going a few times,
it's what my dad would have wanted and i honestly wanted to start back going to church as soon as possible,
but that did not happen because my dapassed away and i not longer had any intrest in going to church,
i lost alot of faith durig the time of my dad's death and eventually i got over it but not completely.
i really and truly wanted to start back going to church recently but i never feel like am ready becausei haven't been going for some years now.
i don't wanted to go to church and find out that i forgot most of the routine and songs ....i mean it would be a shame right.
please leave your views on this down below and feel free to give your honest opinion.

My parents took me and brothers often to church. As an adult I choice not to go anymore. On rare occasion I’ll go and take my kids with me.

@Merliva not always and that’s okay if they don’t enjoy going all of the time. But right now nobody is going to church due to covid. They haven’t been since down time January/February

@ShyBear88 oh wow
Our churches are open but a long bench only takes 2 people or one if there's children

Quite a life situation you've been subjected to, a trial only the brave are given. Your father is correct, the one thing that enables us to endure even in our darkest days is that faith in our God Who is all loving.
Make time for the Church we love. I do hope the churches are open for the Mass. Seek confession, for you have been guilty of the third commandment. Say sorry for not keeping the weekly dates with our God. You made Him wait long enough. Then make amends by praying and mortifying and being charitable towards others. Hurry. God is longing to see you again.

@Merliva Our God is a forgiving God, and all loving. But He wants our love and attention each day, too. The daily prayers are important: morning offering, Angelus, grace before and after meals, the Rosary, the 3 o'clock habit, and the evening prayers.
You can do a meditation now, assess the state of your longing, write it even if you wish, and when you have done so, get ready for confession so you can receive our Lord in the Holy Communion.
Will pray for you.

@eileenleyva god is indeed always forgiving and we can all turn to him in the time of need,
but we should always turn to him and not just in times of trouble,
which i fail to do most of the time but am working on it,
god loves us all and is willing to be there for us if we let him,
i forget to pray mornings most of the time and before and after meal...well i haven't done that
but in the night i pray less than a minute long...
am being as honest as i can as possible so please don't be angry with me.
about the confession,i honestly don't want to do it ,
i don't know good pastors i can trust that much,
last pastor i knew i heard he spoke about a lady's confession during church and she had to walk out of church
because of the circumstances,
the other one i knew got sent back to his country because of sleeping with younger children.
iv'e been through alot. i honestly don't trust anyone with my story .
i just don't want to trust anyone....tired of regreting doing so..
my eyes are filled with water while i am writng this.
and i saw your response earlier but i wanted to response properly so i took long .sorry for
the late response

I have never enjoyed church. I grew up going either every Saturday or every Sunday. Just depended on which day my parents wanted to go. After my parents passed away and I left home, I stopped going, too. I've considered possibly returning, given I live close to two churches. However, I've chosen not to.
At the end of the day, you need to do what's best for you. You don't need to concern yourself with what others may think. I am certain it'll come to you. And, if not, just follow what everyone else does.

I am a person who wants to be close to God and do things that build that relationship.
I love the verse: James 4:8 (Easy-to-Read Version) "Come near to God and he will come near to you. You are sinners, so clean sin out of your lives. You are trying to follow God and the world at the same time. Make your thinking pure."
Come near to God and he will come near to you. You are sinners, so clean sin out of your lives. You are trying to follow God and the world at the same time. Make your thinking pure.
