Today I bought a newspaper first time after the lockdown.

I was regular reader of newspaper early in the morning. I preferred it even before morning tea. Newspaper in hand and tea cup besides is an ideal combination for me for last several years but since lockdown began this March due to coronavirus pandemic, I did not buy a newspaper and managed with online news. Today I decided to buy one after so many months, got it sterilised with sanitiser but my daughter was not happy about it and warned me not to get it again. Do you still get your morning newspaper?

We are too far from town to get a paper regularly. We rely on the internet and the TV. It would be difficult, I would think, to properly sanitise a newspaper.

Good that you are away from city area. You are right it is difficult to sanitise the paper fully. What I did was just poured sanitiser on hand and moved it on outside surface of the paper. That will not sanitise it fully. So I have decided not to get it any more.

@msdivkar Although it's a shame, it is probably a good idea.

@msdivkar I used to get the Friday newspaper. I stopped it a long time way before the virus came into our lives. I prefer checking the news out online.

I have got a special affiliation to reading news on newspapers although I can get the news online but since the pandemic I gave up bringing the newspaper and most probably will continue doing so.

News paper vendor is the only person in my area who has been coming regularly for door delivery of newspaper even during lockdown. They use mask and wear hand gloves and so there is no chance of getting infected by the virus through news paper. But your daughter is right about avoiding buying newspaper and there is always a possibility of getting infected as there are handled by many people during distribution .

We have got a vendor close to our house. It is a shop and it is dangerous. I was avoiding it so far and may continue doing so. Better to avoid that habit of reading physical news paper. Online news sites serve the purpose.

@msdivkar yes online news is safest during this Covid pandemic. The positive cases are still increasing and as businesses have been permitted to open people are also crowding without wearing mask and not maintaining social distancing. If you read Kerala Covid cases it's really alarming. Over 6000 new cases yesterday and is in the increasing trend. Hope lockdown is not forced again by the government if people are careless.

Good not to develop that habit. Handy now during these pandemic days.
