He called me in the middle of the day which is unusual. I answered and said he had some mail for me. My NJEA membership card and my mail in ballot. I told him that he could throw both away because I've never used the card in 20 years and I plan to vote in person. He kept asking me if I was sure I didn't want the ballot. I kept saying I was sure. It was clear that he just wanted to come over. I said fine come over. He looked pretty stressed about work. He even borrowed my Apple Watch to check his heart rate. We hung out for about an hour and a half talking and laughing. He seemed in a better mood when he left. Now he has to get back to work which will probably undo this afternoon's relaxation. Oh well. I tried.
