Poor children at Halloween. Trick or treat.

I have bought too many times groceries online this month (holidays and spring). So the last time I included in my list candy for Halloween So that I could skip October. I have to save.
The grocery list came. It even had the liqueur de cassis that I had vainly asked for many times. It is expensive.
The Halloween candy came too. A kilo of gums.
I started with the green ones. I´m not sure if they were lemon or lime. I will not know because in a moment of guilt I threw away the enveloppes. Now I´m on some oranges ones. Some are orange and some are peach.
THEY ARE DELICIOUS!!!
Sorry for the children in Halloween. The little witches and ghosts come with big plastic pumpkins filled with all sorts of nasty things that will ruit their appetite.
In my neighborhood, when they go back home, teens come out to play tricks on neighbors. I have had to change 3 times the bell.
I´ll turm off my lights. And I´ll finish the candy in peace.

Now that you say it, you are right. It is well that I eat the candy.

You can have all the Halloween candy and won't have to go trick or treating for it !
We absolutely love Halloween, but we won't be doing any of that at all this year. My kids said just get them a bag of their favorite candy and they'll be fine with it.

It's sad, but we gotta do what we gotta do to keep things safe and healthy for everyone. A big lesson in patience too, right?

I only like the small children. The big ones are full of mischief.

@marguicha I put shaving cream on my Social Studies teacher's front window one year (I was 13 or14). But nothing "mean-spirited."

I have lots. Remember I live in a big city. I don´t mind the small children with their parents. I hate the teens.

@TheHorse I think that some people think that it is cool to steal. And not just now. I have my criminal side and steal cuttings from plants in the street although I have money to buy them in a nursery.

@marguicha When I was a kid on the South Side of Chicago, the "poor" kids from the next neighborhood over would run by and steal our trick or treat bags. It was weird, because they could have trick or treated themselves and gotten as much candy as they wanted.

That's good for you. No Halloween party for the kids in our place. The government has suspended it due to the pandemic.

I will be inside on Halloween, not opening the door for anyone, I will be in a new place, and don't know what type of people will be knocking on my door.

Well, they say that one person's loss is another person's gain. The kids lose the candy but you gain!
