Fluid retention.

For several days now, I am quite bothered with the fluid retention that my lower limbs have. I am definitely on a no-salt diet, do some walking inside the house, increase my water intake, but still the fluids decrease slowly day by day.
As much as possible, I prefer sitting with my legs elevated whilst moving them stationary to promote circulation. But walking is another exercise that I do too.
Edema is a manifestation of the heart condition I have now.

@ridingbet I suppose that you have a weak heart that pumps less blood to your kidneys, surely this is the cause of fluid and water retention

they say elevating the legs while lying for 20 minutes is good for blood circulation.

yes, that is so true. i elevate my legs once i sleep at night; otherwise, i just elevate them at knees' length when i am watching TV.

Perhaps a thirty minute sole massage each night can help the blood flow correctly. Elevate your legs against the wall, too, at least for thirty minutes before the night sleep.
Take care.

@ridingbet Efficascent oil is soothing. The feet really needs pampering.

increased salt intake, lesser fluid intake, immobility, and history of a heart ailment contributes to this fluid retention.

Hard to deal with. Some people get help by swimming. I know you will do what works for you.

All you can do is try to be your best and do your best to manage your health. Health can't be rushed after all.

I think exercise the way you do it is helpful.

i always massage my ankles and feet and put them up higher than my hips. i am relieved if the edema is reduced, but i feel so worried again if it comes back

yes it is, but i have to accept it as a manifestation of my condition.
