How "The Boys" (@AmazonPrime, not exactly 'the original comic-book) is like STAR WARS ...

... for us `70s & `80s kids, anyway ... A big reveal in Episode 6 of Season 2, (the picture reminds 'those of us who know what it is' (and it's linked to an explanation, so I don't have to SPOILER it here)). It's actually like STAR WARS (the formatting did some weird thing with the 'S' there) in a couple/few ways---the first of which won't SPOILER it too bad. For those who don't know 'how STAR WARS is for us `70s & `80s kids,' it worked out so that we join the story long-after it began. Our main character (Luke in STAR WARS, like Hughie in THE BOYS) is born into a world where 'the bad guys' (The Empire, Vought International) already 'won' and are the ruling force in the world. (In fact, Hughie was a 'superfan' of Vought's featured team ... until one of them accidentally killed his girlfriend/soon-to-be-fiancée---and that's not a SPOILER since it happens in an early scene of the first episode of the first season ) But this 'the story began way before we got into it'-storytelling--tho there have been hints of it since the first episode--was 'revealed' in 'Ep6S2.' We know that Billy Butcher's been 'a member of The Rebellion' for years, we know why he got into it; Ep6S2 shows us a little bit of Vought International's roots, a little bit of its leaders' backgrounds, revealing that 'the little conflict we see' is actually part of a much bigger conflict. A little clue at the SPOILER I'm trying to avoid - Stormfront (pictured) is THE BOYS' Darth Maul AND its Emperor Palpatine (CEO Stan Edgar being its Darth Vader (without the saving grace of 'killing the Emperor' ... yet) AND its Grand Moff Tarkin).
