My Difficulty with Facebook's PGA TOUR Golf Shootout

How it works (I think): you hold down the mouse-button & slide it back to indicate 'how hard you want to hit it' (moving it left or right to adjust your aim), and let go to hit the ball. The problem comes up there. When you let go, the aim is 'as you aimed it' adjusted by the position of the token on the arch When you pull back, the token slides back-&-forth along the arch; when you let go, it stops somewhat-randomly. Maybe with practice you learn that the token stops 'a certain time after you let go' on 'certain clubs.' But I don't know. Do you play it? Do you have any tips on it?
