Even though this bird made the list of ugliest birds I love that sappy, happy look on his face. This one I think had a kind of rugged handsomeness, The shoebill, don't you just love that name? comes from Central-Eastern Africa. The bird is also known as a whale-headed stork, His diet consists of water snakes, lungfish, lizards, rodents, water foul, and unfortunately, baby crocodiles.
The reason this bird doesn't win any beauty contests is that nature gave him a bill that looks something like a clog shoe. He can be proud of the fact that he''s listed on the most popular among birdwatchers list for Central-Eastern Africa,
The shoebill stands tall at almost 5 feet on long, thin legs. He has gray feathers and big yellow eyes. There is a fluff of feathers on the back of his head that I bet he has a hard time combing. His large and odd-looking bill is yellow with gray markings on it.
The beak ia razor-sharp and has a hook-shaped nail at the tip that lets the shoebill decapitate its prey. I know that sounds bad but a bird has to eat. This bird is a loner and prefers to stand stock still in freshwater swamps waiting for its dinner like lungfish to come swimming by.
The noise the shoebill makes sounds like a machine gun. When the shoebill does mate the pair of shoebills become territorial and build floating nests. Then both male and female help with the incubation period of the eggs which are usually two. And I bet the little shoebills must be adorable.
This amazing looking bird, is the Shoebill Stork, a dinosaur looking bird, with a death stare that will haunt you in your dreams. The shoebill is an unusual-...

What a big bill looks like a shoe or a shape of a whale. Is it not an extinct bird?

I think that he is very charming and positive looking. And somehow he looks like smiling and saying HEY, LOOK AT ME with a big grin on his face.
