I can't imagine a life without my glasses. How did short sighted or presbyopic people manage before eye glasses were discovered ?

They squinted and generally lived in a world which was hazier than most of us know. They would have learned to cope with their situation and, since literacy was much less relevant to them than it is to us, it wouldn't have been too much of a problem.

They might know of herbal remedy for it. You'll be surprised with ancient knowledge.

Maybe they just lived with their condition, without the eyeglasses just like one would for any disease or illness without cure or aid. Or the resourceful ones maybe deviced some tools for themselves to aid their vision.

I guess there were no eye issues until glasses were invented

I think they were dependent on some herbs or ayurvedic medicines but on those days there weren't any gadgets so can expect them to don't have so bad eyesight

I think there were no smartphones and due to great greenery all around, their eyes were healthy

That is deep. Did they even know they had a problem with their eyesight?

When their vision worsened they probably realised.
