When I began teaching, I looked out for a colleague who was friendly and who I trusted and asked all the questions I had. It's logical that a beginner doesn't know everything. University is very different from the practical school life. It's also a good idea to become friendly with the school secretary. School secretaries know everything about the running of the school.
Your shyness will become less the more self-confident you become.

Be confident and love yourself. When you're confident it shows.

First of all, go with the flow. You don't have to overreact and pretend to be somebody you are not. Just be yourself. Second of all, try to get to know every single person so you decide who you wanna be with, remember not all people at work are trustworthy. Lastly Once you find somebody who you feel comfortable with, open yourself up. Dont hate yourself for being shy, embrace your shyness it is part of you.
