Do our voices age?

I am just wondering if our voices also age as we grow old. I don't remember anymore my voice when I was young. But it makes me wonder if my voice today will be the same when I reach 60. What do you think?

Yes, voices 'age'. “The typical change as we get older, is that we get thin, breathy voices … those are the characteristics that make it sound like a person has an old voice.” Evidence confirms that voices do change with age. ... When we age our vocal chords weaken and become drier.

Our voice ages, but in some people it changes a lot and in others you cannot even notice.

@Janet357 When I call a cousin of my husband I am all the time surprised how young her voice sounds, she is 80.

I agree with this one because once there was a mom who called me and she sounded like a grandma when she was still young.

It seems that human voices age as can be heard when we listen to singers when they were young and when they are older.

No it wouldn't be the same. Our voice box ages too and also our respiratory systems won't be the same.
