What a Mess or Thankful I'm Home

My mailbox was crammed full yesterday when I got home. Among the junk mail was a refund check. Now, that is not a good thing. This refund is my October rent. With my car still at the shop getting the tire fixed, and my son needs to sleep for work tonight, I need to get to the bank and get a cashiers check for the rent.
The complex is under new management and needed to zero out the books, so they sent the October rent back. That's the mess. I'm thankful I got home when I did or my October rent would be late. I always pay a month ahead of time because of my pay date so I won't be late. This is totally inconvenient, especially with a flat tire.
To make things even more interesting, the rehab nurse didn't pack all my clothes. I was missing my socks and underwear when I got all my clothes put away last night. It's good my son had my laundry to do or I wouldn't have any right now. I'll be picking that up too. I called to make sure they had it. They do. I just need to get there and get it.
It's always something.
Now, my neighbor across the hall isn't able to help because she's sick. Something I don't need right now. I'm sure it's not COVID. It's the change in weather.
The good thing is I can do a lot more than I thought I could. I even walked around the kitchen this morning when I made breakfast without using my walker. 
I see me getting back to normal in no time. My kitchen is a narrow galley type, so I had plenty to hold onto. It was easier not to use the walker than use it to make breakfast.

It sounds that you will need someone to help you drive you around to the nursing home and bank. I hope one of your other friends can help.
Keep away from you sick neighbor. You don't know for a fact that it's the change in weather.

@DianneN I do. A friend did all the leg work. Now I don't need to worry about the rent. After talking to the office this morning, I can pay it like I always do. So when I get paid either tomorrow or next week, I can get that taken care of again, and not worry about it as I did today.
I am taking precautions. Even though I wasn't out very long, it felt good to get back home. I also have my clothes.

Yes, I'll keep away from her. I got help almost immediately when I put the message on FB. I also left a message for my son not to worry about me once the car is fixed. He needs his sleep for work tonight.
Thank you. I'm glad you like it. I love the Botanical Gardens. Maybe next year I can get a membership again if this COVID situation gets better. Right now Wisconsin is leading the country in cases. My sister called, she and her husband tested negative so that's good news.

I'm sorry your neighbor has gotten sick, but your tire will probably be fixed today. I can't figure out why your Oct rent payment was returned. You will be able to do more things, every single day. It's important to do things slowly, that's all.

We have a new management company. They needed to zero out the books by the end of September. So with a credit for October, it needed to be refunded. It was good I came home when I did. It's all taken care of now and I can get November's payment taken care of the same as I've always done to keep it a month ahead so I won't be late.
It was hard to trust her anyway, so I'm not worried about her. My sister will be here today for a few days to help.
I still need two more tires according to the shop. I can't afford them, so I'm having my son go to the used tire place today to get those taken care of before there are more problems with the car.

@just4him We have a place here, they sell used tires for $10. My father did this many times, because they couldn't afford new tires.

Yes, they are silly. It's what makes people, people. I'm glad I can get around the kitchen without it.
Yes, it is a bummer. The good news is my sister will be here to help out for a few days. She tested negative, so that was good. I look forward to spending time with her.

I hope someone can come get you to take you to do those things you need to get done. Glad you are able to get along as well as you are!! That is fantastic. I have a dear friend who had surgery to remove cancer from her lung, they took part of her lung out. I talked with her son this morning and her lung collapsed. I pray she can pull through this.

Wow! Your day was a Murphy's law on for sure 
Flat tires are a real bummer. I too recently had to have one repaired. Well, at least I didn't need a new tire what an expense that would be. So I'm thankful for that! Glad to hear your not incapacitated from the surgery and you can get around some.

Love the image. Good you hold on to get around your kitchen. In a galley kitchen a walker might even be a hazard. I hope it all got sorted out for you.

Yes, it is easier. I just park the walker and do what I need to then grab it when I'm leaving.
