Is cooking with electric stove slower than cooking with a gas stove?

Chores never end. But cooking consumes a big part of my time. I don't know if cooking with electric stove is a bit slower compared to cooking with a gas stove. But it takes an hour or two hours for me. I have cooked rice, noodles and pork steak and bacon. I have been cooking since 12pm. And it is 3pm here I will sleep for a bit. See you!

Depends upon the type of electric stove.. I have an induction stove and it gets heated so fast

Very good, except for slow cooking ; induction is less efficient than gas to simmer.

@Janet357 I have never cooked with an electric stove so do not know anything about them how long it takes. That is a long time you have to wait for them to get done.

@Janet357 I would think when the electricity goes off then you cannot use it at all while when the electricity goes off I can use my gas stove burners.

I think it is slower to cook in electric stove. Well probably, it depends on the electric stove that you have

I have no idea. I think it depends on how high you put on the fire of your electric stove and gas range.

I think it is slower, I don't care for the electric stove, it never seems to cool as well.

@Janet357 Might be. Lower temps will take longer to cook.

Perhaps I just cooked it in low fire.

A gas hob gives you more instant heat than the conventional electric hob, though an induction hob is faster. Commercial kitchens always use gas, however, because it is instant, easily controllable and capable of more heat than an electric hob. Personally, I find that the preparation before cooking and the cleaning afterwards are the things which take the most time. The cooking time itself isn't affected much by whether it's a gas or an electric hob.

i've a gas stove 'n like that i can control the heat better'n such 'lso cools faster'n those 'lectric'uns. i confess to a slight panic when i go to my momma's 'n need to cook coz she's fully 'lectric. i'm thinkin' if'n 't took ya that long to cook those items, either yer pan 'twas too big fer the 'eye' ya used 'r ya didn't've yer heat turned high 'nough fer the task.

I prefer gas. We have one here, but our electric one in Florida heats up very quickly, too. Have a good nap.

Electric is usually slower I think but gas is a favorite for me It all depends on how high you set the heat. You can do low or high on both. I want to get a gas stove in the future again.
