A Beautiful Monday

So happy to have taken early retirement. I never liked Mondays, but now I do. I had a teaching career that never required me to work on weekends. I look forward to every Monday as a new fresh start to the week. Today I walked bright an early for 2 hours, did laundry, tidied the house, finished my notifications, took and made phone calls and texts. I only have to pay some bills and the day is mine. How do you feel about Mondays? I call all days of the week, Friday. Sometimes I get confused. ~Photo is mine of a blue jay~

That is a beautiful bird. Since I am no longer working, I forgot the days we have. Almost every day is a weekend for me but, I am glad I have my hobbies that keep me busy besides doing household chores. The weekend is for me a relaxing day.

Thanks! You are always so busy traveling, visiting, baking, etc. You do need your weekends to catch your breath and relax.

@DianneN It´s been a while since I travel far to my sis in the Netherlands. Yes, I need the weekend for catching my breath and relax but this Saturday, my friend has a birthday celebration and I might bake a cake for her.

That Blue Jay looks awesome. You looked like having a good time in teaching. Now a days, I read about a lot of teachers being made to work overtime, not paid enough and some even not paid on time. Some schools and colleges do pay good, but they are less. With work from home, Monday doesn't looks or feels that bad.

@DianneN Things should be regulated and schools should also be disciplined in paying on time. Glad that you are enjoying your time.

Thanks. I was lucky to get that shot of the blue jay before he flew away. Here, the teachers get paid regularly. It's up to them if they want to work overtime just like I did. No extra pay for that, but the workload was enormous. So happy to be retired, especially now. Working from home has been a boon to my sons, too.

Monday is a brand new start to the week for me too. Since I'm retired I no longer dread Mondays nor have those Sunday night blues. Our sunny skies have gotten overcast and now it looks like rain. Guess I won't be sitting outside this afternoon

@DianneN I'm reminded about the Sunday night blues every week when my daughter goes into funk knowing that Monday is a work day. Glad you were able to enjoy a visit with your son today. Pretty soon it's going to be too cold to sit outside and visit.

@Marilynda1225 With her drive and her boss, I'm not surprised your daughter feels that way. I would, too. Thanks. He stopped here on his way home from Vermont. Don't remind me of how cold it will be. I don't know how on earth we will see our son unless we bundle up and visit outside. It's going to be a very long winter for us.

You are right! No Sunday night blues. I forgot about those. Our son popped over for a nice long visit. Of course, we sat outside in the sunshine. Hubs had to take a Zoom call, so when he left, the clouds came out. Looks poopy now.

Your photo of the blue jay is gorgeous! I really enjoy Mondays since my job responsibilities ended. It was always my day off, working for Tawas Village though occasionally I got called in. I worked every Friday, Sat., &Sun + holidays, for two years and loved it! Those residents were like family members.

Thank you! I had the window opened, so it was easy to snap that photo. A very rare occurrence for me. At least you enjoyed those days. I haven't worked weekends since high school. Weekends have always been reserved for family and friends including Friday date nights. lol

@DianneN Since we got married(30 years ago), Jay often works Saturdays. Once a month, he worked 1/2 day on Sunday, at Bernard's Building Center. So weekends, we didn't usually make plans. The kids were gone, Chad lived by Detroit with a friend, Kevin and Mari Lyn was in California. The empty nest was truly empty, most of the time.

@DianneN I wanted my kids to be able to be in sports and do everything they wanted to do and have the money to go to college and to get good jobs. It all paid off. All six have good jobs.

What a brilliant photo. These days Mrs. WorDazza has a part time job where she works 3 days on then 3 days off so days have become somewhat meaningless as she's never off on the same days in any given week.

@DianneN Most of the time it takes quite a bit of thought. She's just had 3 days off and is in work tomorrow. Today has definitely had a Sunday vibe to it.

What a pretty bird. I've never seen one for real. I always loved Mondays, it meant I could go to work all happy and cheerful which antagonized all those grumpies that I worked with.

Those are so beautiful @DianneN we used to have a lot of hawks flying around but not anymore, too much construction has destroyed their hunting grounds so they left.

You are so hilarious! Thanks. They are pretty birds, but so mean to the others and very territorial. We saw a retail hawk in a tree today. He then flew right over our heads. Huge and scary!
