A Beautiful Monday

So happy to have taken early retirement. I never liked Mondays, but now I do. I had a teaching career that never required me to work on weekends.
I look forward to every Monday as a new fresh start to the week.
Today I walked bright an early for 2 hours, did laundry, tidied the house, finished my notifications, took and made phone calls and texts. I only have to pay some bills and the day is mine.
How do you feel about Mondays? I call all days of the week, Friday. Sometimes I get confused.

That Blue Jay looks awesome. You looked like having a good time in teaching.
Now a days, I read about a lot of teachers being made to work overtime, not paid enough and some even not paid on time.
Some schools and colleges do pay good, but they are less.
With work from home, Monday doesn't looks or feels that bad.

Things should be regulated and schools should also be disciplined in paying on time.
Glad that you are enjoying your time.

Thanks. I was lucky to get that shot of the blue jay before he flew away.
Here, the teachers get paid regularly. It's up to them if they want to work overtime just like I did. No extra pay for that, but the workload was enormous. So happy to be retired, especially now.
Working from home has been a boon to my sons, too.

Monday is a brand new start to the week for me too. Since I'm retired I no longer dread Mondays nor have those Sunday night blues.
Our sunny skies have gotten overcast and now it looks like rain. Guess I won't be sitting outside this afternoon

@DianneN I'm reminded about the Sunday night blues every week when my daughter goes into funk knowing that Monday is a work day.
Glad you were able to enjoy a visit with your son today. Pretty soon it's going to be too cold to sit outside and visit.

@Marilynda1225 With her drive and her boss, I'm not surprised your daughter feels that way. I would, too.
Thanks. He stopped here on his way home from Vermont.
Don't remind me of how cold it will be. I don't know how on earth we will see our son unless we bundle up and visit outside.
It's going to be a very long winter for us.

Your photo of the blue jay is gorgeous! I really enjoy Mondays since my job responsibilities ended. It was always my day off, working for Tawas Village though occasionally I got called in. I worked every Friday, Sat., &Sun + holidays, for two years and loved it! Those residents were like family members.

Thank you! I had the window opened, so it was easy to snap that photo. A very rare occurrence for me.
At least you enjoyed those days. I haven't worked weekends since high school. Weekends have always been reserved for family and friends including Friday date nights. lol

@kobesbuddy Wow! Well, times will certainly be changing for you once Jay is fully retired. It will be so wonderful to be together and live life to the fullest.

@DianneN Since we got married(30 years ago), Jay often works Saturdays. Once a month, he worked 1/2 day on Sunday, at Bernard's Building Center. So weekends, we didn't usually make plans. The kids were gone, Chad lived by Detroit with a friend, Kevin and Mari Lyn was in California. The empty nest was truly empty, most of the time.

Mondays are a sign to me of a new beginning. A new start, and new opportunities. When you used to teach, what did you teach Dianne? I am curious to know! Lovely picture above!
