A Day to Forget ~ Marriage October 6, 2017

What was once such a happy and beautiful day has been forgotten. 3 years ago today, our younger son was married. It was a beautiful fall day celebrated with over 150 of our closet friends and family at a fabulous venue. Unfortunately, his wife was thrown out of his house when she admitted to being a cheater and a liar 3 months before their 2nd wedding anniversary. The divorce was finalized last December. She lost big time! She is all alone from what I have heard. Fortunately, our son has never been happier! He has met the girl of his dreams. They are considering marriage down the path and perhaps a baby or two. My motto is that things work out for the best! Happy Non-Anniversary to our precious son.

I remember your posts about the wedding. I have to say that I didn't like her dress at all. Anyway I will always fondly remember my wedding day. It was perfect.

Thanks for remembering my posts. I loved her dress, but only the bottom. 4 grand down the tubes. I am sure you will always fondly remember your wedding day. Perhaps a do-over? I loved my wedding, too.

I hope the lady gets help. My mother in law never did accept me, not till her dying day. I've always wondered what "the family" heard about me.

@DianneN It's funny about people. My Mother in law thought she was quite high class. My uncle sure thought he was a mogul but toward the end my aunt started to act more human and not just a star from another planet. I would like to speak more with the lady I was named after's family but again they are on par with my rich uncle. They don't reach out to me. On it goes.

Personally, we don't care if she gets help or not. She made her own bed and can stay in it forever. I couldn't even remember her name yesterday! I think your mother-in-law had the problem, and not you. At least I kept my mouth shut during their marriage.

@sallypup What a shame. We had a rich uncle who was so very kind and thoughtful to everyone in the family. He was so handsome, too. Life is what you make of it. You can pick your nose. You can pick your friends. But you can't pick your family.

And this is scriptural, Dianne. All things work together for good, for those who love the Lord, for those who are the called, according to his purpose. (God's will is accomplished)

@DianneN We don't understand why God allows us, to go through painful experiences. But, we all do! And when it's all over and done with, our faith in the Lord is much stronger:)

That was just sad that the marriage didn’t work and just saddened that it was the wife that caused the marriage to fail. l am sure you are proud of your son that he didn’t caused the marriage to fail. l am hoping that this time marriage will be successful with his new found love.

Thank you. From what we heard, she realized too late that she made a huge mistake and wanted him back. Once a cheater, always a cheater. Our son could never live peacefully with her again. The guy she cheated with didn't even want her.

@DianneN No, it's never a good idea to take back someone who left. She was a cheater, she will be always a cheater. He is a lot happier now.

@LadyDuck Exactly! No one can predict what will happen in the future, but he took his vows seriously. So glad to be rid of her. My brother never cared for her. My daughter--in-law told me she likes his girlfriend much more, and hubs and I only liked her because my son did. She was a bit of a kook to us.

That's okay. It was a beautiful fall day. They wanted to get married in the fall. Oh, well. We all like his girlfriend more than his ex, too! His ex wanted him back, but tootle-loo to her! He wouldn't take her back, even when he spent months of crying with us. Hubs and I are just so thrilled for him that he is happy again. That's all we ever wanted for him.
