What the Unholy Heck?????

This started innocently enough: I went to a New Orleans TV station’s website to check on the news about Hurricane Delta. I ended up saying, “What the unholy heck?????????” Apparently, if priests weren’t having a bad enough reputation, a priest in the New Orleans archdiocese decided he’d see just how far he could push things. This guy (I’m not going to insult clergymen calling him a “pastor” or whatever) hired not one but TWO “dominatrices” — one who bills herself as a “satanic dominatrix” — to come to New Orleans from Seattle and have sex with him on the altar of his church. AND film it! There are so many things about this that almost make it sound like a news story from “The Onion” or another news parody site. * This is New Freaking Orleans we’re talking about, one of the “hotbeds” of debauchery. You mean to tell me this guy could NOT find a couple of dominatrices in town and instead had to hire one from 2/3 of the way across the country????? *They were caught by a guy who was out for a walk at 11 PM at night and saw the church lights on, so he went over to investigate....then pulled out his cell phone and filmed a little of the action before calling the cops. (Guess he had to watch it a couple of times to make sure there was something obscene going on, right?) Those are just the first two things that popped out at me. The archbishop suspended the priest (duh!) after this, the fourth sexual scandal in the archdiocese in recent weeks. (Yes, fourth in ONE diocese!) He also burned the altar and intends to consecrate a new one. (Again, duh!) Jokes aside (and, as I said, this almost sounds like a SNL skit), it’s very sad to see things like this happen. I wonder how many people have their faith shaken by things like this. Worse, how many people with no faith were just given a new boatload of arsenal to shoot. And, as someone commented on the story, how many people think if the two dominatrices had been altar boys we never would have heard about this. The story from a New Orleans TV station:

This is a very sad situation. As an ex-Catholic I still have to wonder what difference it would make if they allowed priests to marry. In this situation, it might not have made any difference. This is just out there.

WOW. We also have to consider this might have all been set-up as well with actors. In this day and age I trust very little in the news.
