We just returned from a long walk on the beach and as we walked into the house, I made a mad dash to the house phone. Our younger son is camping in Vermont and has poor reception. He called from a real estate agent’s office to tell us that he bought a cute cabin from a 31 year old Canadian he met on a hike yesterday. The guy wanted to sell it to be with his girlfriend in Maine. To make a long story short, my son bought the cabin and already sold it, sight unseen, to his partner’s cousin for a small profit. Now he’s back to camping. While writing this, I got a text from our older son. He just bought a new SUV. They really need two cars with two active kids. What a day! ~Photo is mine loving being a mother and grammy! ~

I would, too. I'm sure he took plenty of photos up there in the sticks. I will see everything when he returns from his trip. Thank you!

Sounds like interesting times. I might buy and sell a cabin in Montana for a quick small profit, but I would NEVER sell the family cabin. It's been around since before I was born.

@kaylachan Our younger son has been happening upon houses all summer and buying them and selling them for a profit and quickly. This was the fastest! The car was a necessity for our older son. The beach was perfect at 75 degrees. We walked, but didn't swim.

@DianneN is she the ice skating princess? Why do you assume we won't believe? How much did your son invest on the apartment? How did he increase the value of the apartment so fast ?

@stringer321 Yes, that's before she discovered ice skating. It's just a figure of speech. Actually, one woman didn't believe it. He didn't pay much for the cabin, because the guy who sold it was in a hurry to get rid of it to be with his girlfriend. My son saw it, checked it out all by himself, went to a real estate agent in town, called his agent, and she handled the rest with the agent. He didn't want to ask too much for it, since it was his partner's cousin. He made a small amount in under two hours. He has so much luck! All he was doing was resting to have a snack and a drink with his girlfriend when the 31 year old hiker came by and said hi. They started taking and one thing led to another.

Talk about real estate and vehicles! I want a cottage and a new car. My roommate's poor Lincoln is putting on the miles. Our house is hilarious. Looks like a sorority house!

Double thanks. Our son was considering a used car at first, but my husband and I talked him out of it. They need a car that is reliable for several years of use. Afterall, they are carrying precious cargo. Our younger son must be having some kind of lucky streak with houses this year. He is unbelievable!!!!!

Thanks! It was all about who he knew and a little bit of what he knew. He is good friends with his real estate agent, who is the sister of his partner, whose cousin wanted a cabin. The cousin. is also a friend of my son. Oh, yes! That sports gear takes up so much room. Now everyone can go off in their different directions in peace.

Our younger son has been having things fall into his lap lately. It could never happen to us! Our older son is always busy with work (thank goodness) and driving our grandson to practices and competitions in 3 states. It was so difficult coordinating hockey and figure skating events on weekend with just one car.

Thanks, Marsha. It was all done in under two hours thanks to the real estate agent up in Vermont and my son's real estate agent, who is a friend and the sister of his partner. Also the cousin of the buyer. What a crazy world we live in. My son made a small profit after all was said and done, but a nice tidy sum. He has great luck with houses. I just hope he has the same luck when he wants to sell his house.
