When autumn comes a knockin'

She's persistent to be let'n. Tiny raps turn to howlin' winds 'n leaves dance 'cross 'em, fallin' like a sea 'f golden rain. They seek a final restin' place, to return to Mother Nature. Create more magic'n transformation fer a future time. Skies 'f blue, tinged with blowin' dust 'bound. Seen more freely though the canopy 'f trees 's they grow more naked with each passin' breath. Soon't shall be slumber time 's autumn eases to winters darkness. No door can stop the passin' 'f time ~

@CarolDM yes ma'am. mostly the 'nly reds i've seen's been from the virginia creeper, so 'twas nice to find this'un. jest sittin' there, beckonin' to be preserved fer all time. 'tis 'pposed to be warmer'n normal 'n bone dry 'ccordin' to the weather folks. 'tis not the cold that gets me, 'tis the shortened daylight hours. i've convinced myself i need more, though'm sympathetic with mother nature's need fer slumber.

We went for a long drive today, and that pretty much sums up what we saw. The farmers were all out combining, which kicked up lots of dust.

@crazyhorseladycx Oh yes, I will post a picture of it. I am really looking forward to getting the call that it is done. I just hope that we have a dry day to drive up there, that area is along the lake and gets snow before our region does. We almost didn't order due to the fact that it will be November when the piece is completed.

that such does 's well 's helpin' to provide some respite fer slightly tender plants o'er the winter months. 'f course, the latter ought not be necessary here this winter, 'ccordin' to the weather folks - dry'n warmer'n normal temps yet 'gain.

This weekend my sister took Little Miss for a couple of hours. I opted to drive around and look at the beautiful scenery. Became a tourist and enjoyed the changing leaves. Didn't enjoy the antics of the crazy tourist drivers that forget they need to watch the road more than the leaves. Had a couple of near misses! Heart thumping episodes. Pretty scary.

@ElusiveButterfly the good, the bad'n the ugly 'f livin' out'n tourist 'ttractions. bad fer the residents who'd love to 'njoy the beauty 'emselves with quieter roadways. good fer the economy, those tourist dollars.

Ah. beautiful autumnal words - love it! And how wonderful when we can witness such - a bit of life when tending to the garden as you said! Our autumn here is well, more or less the slow end of a long summer . . . maybe that's just the autumn style of Southern CA .

thanks fer yer kind words . 'tis a cycle 'f life, though subtle'n some parts 'f the world. i hope y'all get some moisture soon, though'm not certain when such normally 'ccurs'n yer neck 'f the woods? 'tis been touches 'f autumn, touches 'f summer here. 'twas 92 yesterday. cold front slammed through last eve with howlin' winds. today's high more'n predicted, 'tis reached 72. a beaut 'f a day once the winds ceased. now 'tis barely a flutter 'nless leaves disturbs by birds. 've ne'er been to yer neck 'f the woods. though'd love to come with camera's'n tow :)

Such a beautiful description of autumn. You got the five senses working so much I could see and feel your world as it changes from summers green to autumns glory, and winter's stark reality. Thank you. The picture is perfect for your post.
