Still Quilting

The weather is still pleasant.
I've taken a walk almost every day. Some days I walk almost ten kilometres.
Quilting keeps me busy.
Recently I finished a quilt for a friend. Her mom passed away just over a year ago, leaving a partially assembled quilt.
I made a few more blocks and found a way to finish the quilt top. Then last week I went to use the Longarm machine at the local quilt shop.
My friend is really pleased with the finished quilt.

@Morleyhunt That is lovely.
All of the people that I made quilts for told me how much they meant to me years down the road. That was always so nice to hear, I am sure that you hear it all of the time.

It's something I enjoy. Someone else's creativity to build on is its own unique challenge. Earlier this year I finished a baby quilt another friend embroidered 23 years ago. She was also thrilled with the final result.

You might be shocked at the untidy disarray in my sewing room. I seem to work best in a mess.

That is such a beauty. I would love eating that on my bed. I can see why she is so happy. My favorite square on this quilt is on the right two rows down.

Yes, I began with about a dozen blocks....made a few more to create the size we were striving for. Then played around with sashing for something pleasing that used fabrics in the box. This was the final result. I was pleased...my friend was ecstatic.

If that's the quilt is very nice. I can't tell who did what which is always good. I've never seen a mixture of styles for squares like that but I like it. Cool that you were able to finish it for her.

It was a fun challenge. Travel isn't an option this year. My family is slowly drowning under the quilts I'm making. This was a pleasant change.
