I Struck Gold!!!

Items I rely on are so difficult to get these days. I’m a germaphobe as it is, but the pandemic has made me nuts! I like to keep a well stocked pantry and freezer, but was getting nervous not finding my favorite Lysol products in the stores. Luckily, I had a good supply, but my supply was dwindling. So I allowed myself to be price gouged online and stocked up. I also bought a supply for my younger son. And the Lysol sprays should arrive any day! I call this kind of shopping a gold strike these days. Are you finding certain items hard to get?

I'm glad you found them online and sorry you took a price gouge for them. Hand sanitizer is still hard to find. I need to be there at the right time to find it.

At this point, I didn't care how much they cost. I am so thrilled to have them. What else do I have to spend my money on these days? We are well stocked with hand sanitizer. When we go out, we wear gloves and toss them. Soap and water at home is what we use. My favorite brand of paper towels is getting hard to find.

@just4him Thanks! I've been shopping online for pants, sheets, glassware, and other boring stuff. It serves a purpose at least. Hubs stocked up on hand sanitizer when we were in Florida and had the good sense to pack it up when we left. Our son gives us things as he finds them, since he's out and about and we aren't. I've been using a former brand paper towel that I liked, but my son told us he knows where to get the brand I love. We have to wait until he returns from Vermont.

@DianneN I'm glad you're thrilled to have them. You must miss retail therapy. That's good you're well-stocked on hand sanitizer. I use the store brand of paper towels. I hope you find some soon.

Those kind of items still are hard to find in stores here too. But I do have some of both at home.

For the moment we find everything we need. We had a shortage of hand sanitizer in late April, but I had enough at home for several months.

It's been tough to find certain things here at different times. We bought a lot of hand sanitizer in Florida and brought it home with us. Since we rarely go out, we use soap and water. All I really need now is my favorite brand of paper towels. Our son said he can get them for me, thank goodness!

I have those , but we can still buy just one per visit, and they are in stock. It is not like it used to be, where, you could't find any. You find them now, but with a limit of how many you can buy.

In the initial days of lockdown, certain soaps and sanitizers were hard to find. Some online orders were getting cancelled or delayed. Now things are much better. I did however changed vendors for some products I buy in between. Now in fact, we have many companies launching sanitizing sprays- Brands : Savlon, Dettol and even more.

@DianneN I think we do have some things wrong here in the Indian system. Yet recently, certain Enterprising people have adjusted and innovated and we now have good production of masks, sanitizers, and as per reports of PPE Kits. In fact, one report suggests that India is now a big manufacturing hub of PPE Kits. Crisis tests us, but perhaps gives us opportunities as well.

You have been pretty lucky. As soon as something is put on the shelf here, it's gone in a matter of minutes. I did place another order, and was lucky to get the few things that were left. I think I will be set for a long time now.

@DianneN I hope we don't go through another hoarding experience this fall & winter. You would think that the sanitizing items we need would be fully stocked and overflowing not the opposite. It's sad when we have to pay higher prices just to stay safe.

Lately, I haven't found any specific things hard to find. Glad to be well stocked as I have to isolate this week. (A student tested positive) Wish we had more eggs on hand, but will definately not starve.

@DianneN I am glad you were able to find what you needed online and so thoughtful to get for your younger son too. There are things that even before the virus the stores did not have. I have to to to two different stores to get things that cannot find in one store. Also was able to get sand for my cat at a store we had before but not anymore. I have to go to the pet store to get stuff for my cat.

That is so inconvenient to have to go to two stores to get what you need. Since the pandemic, I have to do that, too, and still don't find what I need. I know you would do anything for Sophie. I heard that prices are going to continue to rise.
