No More Chicken!

I can not tolerate any more chicken!
We have had rotisserie, chicken tettrazini, KFC, ... The roommates like chicken.
You do not know how bad I just simply wanted to go to McDonald's for a darn burger! But, if you know me, I do not like to start an argument.
So, late last night, I "asked politely" if I could take some beef out of the freezer for dinner for today.
One roommate had dinner with me. The other roommate had cereal.
The burgers were not all that good. I usually make good burgers. I guess I really do need a fast-food burger as I have not had one in quite a few months. Unreal.
What did you have for dinner?

Tonight I fixed porcupine meatballs(ground beef), acorn squash, and steamed okra.

I refuse to have meatballs made with pork. How about you?

@Spontaneo I don't eat pork very often, usually only pork roast or maybe one pork chop. Bacon? Maybe once a month I'll have a couple crisp strips. Jay would eat pork every day, if I'd fix it!

Yeah I would be sick of chicken too if I had it that much. I had burgers the last 2 nights so I'm good on my burger fix and I have had tuna fish for lunch the last few days also. Not sure what my next choice in meat will be, maybe a steak ? I haven't had one of them in awhile.

Tuna seems good right now! Maybe I could make some Acapulco Tuna Salad tomorrow! salsa, mayonnaise, tuna and crushed corn chips mixed and placed on a bed of lettuce.

We are having a chicken tender / mango salad for dinner. We have chicken a lot, but I try to vary the menu . . . like last night we had a Thai curry with chicken thighs. And that goes for beef or pork too - varying the menu. We have had many homemade burgers since March, but I know, having a restaurant burger is just different.

@Spontaneo We can all talk about the healthiness of foods for a billion years. Nothing wrong with having cookies and a burger once and a while, right?

Thank you for understanding where I am coming from! I have been criticized that I am getting too many calories from a few cookies and a burger. Dear Lord, I have been sharing most of the cookies. Then, I only had one burger in months!

Diversity, the pleasantries if life! I too got to have beef. I prefer beef over chicken too. Why not have a little of both at a meal? This way everyone is happy.

@oahuwriter I just hate the thought of the cows being butchered.

They stopped selling $1.00 Frito burritos a few months ago. I thought the darn things were a big seller.

@Spontaneo Never had one. It might just be that they are going to make them a limited time thing each year. McDonald's has actually found great success with selling the McRib like that.

I love chicken, but I cook it myself in different ways. Once I went to the US to a friend´s house and she told me to heat some chicken (very similar to the one you placed there). I turned on the oven and a lot of grease started to come out . I could not eat it.
I had some leftover black beans (homemade) with rice (homemade) for lunch. Now I´ll go and make a guacamole to eat with tortilla chips.

Ugh! I cannot stand take-out chicken (but, that's just me.
Tonight, I cooked some ground beef and mashed potatoes for my mother. I also ate some mashed potatoes, but skipped the ground beef, as I have already been glutened today, and don't need to become even more bloated from the ground beef. I am drinking some soluble fiber, and will be heating up some peppermint tea shortly.

@Chellezhere Do you take a popular name-brand soluble fiber?

You're done with your baked potato chips. Now it's burger. That's heavy. I mean it's loaded with more calories.

Darling, I did not eat all of the cookies. I have been sharing them. The burger I had was the only burger I have had in months.
