The weekend is here! More foliage! And where’s that dang hoodie I bought last year at the Red Skelton Museum?? I got my doctors appointments out of the way today, and after the optometrist’s visit on Monday I’ll be good to go! Here’s another song with “baby” in the title for you to kick off the weekend.
My Baby Thinks He’s a Train- Rosanne Cash
This isn’t all that country, but it might hurt some heads. And hey, it’s Johnny Cash’s daughter!
And, given that she is Johnny Cash’s daughter, it’s only appropriate that she’s singing about a train. (Johnny always had a segment on his TV show called “Ride This Train.”)
Rosanne probably got a break or two at the beginning because she is Johnny’s daughter, but two or three lines into the great song “Seven Year Ache” you realize she didn’t need a break. She has plenty of talent on her own.
My Baby Thinks He’s a Train
Written by Leroy Preston
Recorded by Rosanne Cash
From Seven Year Ache, 1981
Choo choo ain’t just some train sound:

My favorite line in this song is, “he’s just like a train, he always gives some tramp a ride.”

I definitely prefer old country like Johnny Cash over the new stuff. Did she also do these boots are made for walking or was that Frank Sinatra's daughter?
