Warning: If you don’t like Christmas posts, please skip over this. I’m actually excited for the Christmas season, so I’d appreciate it if you didn't put a damper on it, please. 2020 has sucked enough so let me have my holiday cheer lol. Thank you. :) P.S. - This is a lengthy post, sorry lol.
I know, I know, it’s not even Halloween yet. But I wanted to get a head start on my stocking stuffers for Christmas, and well, it’s not hurting anyone lol.
So a while back, @VivaLaDani13 mentioned creating and filling mini stockings for her loved ones, and I thought it was such a cute idea, I wanted to join in on the fun! While I enjoy crafts, I’m not very good at making things from scratch, so I’ll be ordering my stocking from Amazon within the next few weeks. I’ll be doing this for the people I’m going to be seeing on Christmas, as most (if not all) of the gifts I mail out will be done via Amazon Prime this year.
So I started picking up little gifts here and there, mainly from the Dollar Tree because I’m shopping for multiple people (and this is in addition to their regular gifts). A few things came from other places though, like Target and eventually Walmart. I also ordered a few things from Etsy recently. Anyway, here’s an idea of what I’ve picked up or ordered so far.
- Mom: So far she’s getting some Yoda hand sanitizer and a sticker of Yoda holding a Baltimore Ravens football (the sticker is on its way from Texas; I ordered it from Etsy). Clearly, she's a fan of Yoda, and of course our NFL home team lol. P.S. - Yoda is a character from Star Wars (I know not everyone is into it).
- Brother-in-Law: I bought him a small headband lamp, thought maybe he could use it for work, and I may order him a Hellraiser “Pinhead” (horror movie) LEGO person from Etsy, but I don’t know yet because of the shipping. If so, I’ll have to order it asap.
- Older Sister: So far, I only ordered her a Wonder Woman pin off Etsy.
- 21yr old Nephew: I also bought him a headband lamp, as it may come in handy with some of his hobbies or when he's looking for things.
- 19yr old Niece: So far, I bought her Vaseline lip balm, since she’s mentioned using Vaseline on her lips in the past. I thought this would be easier.
- 16yr old Niece: I ordered her a Harley Quinn pin off Etsy, and I’m planning to pick up a Friends (the TV show) “Central Perk” decal from Walmart.
- 10yr old Niece: So far, she’s getting a headband lamp (she likes to have extra flashlights) and a blue camouflage phone stand.
- Little Guy (best friend’s 7yr old son): I picked up some Super Mario stickers so far. He LOVES Mario.
I haven’t started on my younger sister and future brother-in-law or my best friend yet, and I’m not finished with everyone else. I’ve paused the shopping for a week or two because 1. I don’t want to go overboard with the spending. 2. I’m still coming up with gift ideas. 3. I need to order the stockings so I can see how big they are before buying anything else. My goal is 2-3 items and a snack/candy per person, but I’ll get the candy later, not two months before Christmas.
I’ll start my actual Christmas shopping in November/December, as usual. I’m hoping to be a little further on my stocking stuffers by mid-November.
Oh, and my Mom reads my Gratitude Challenges, but she knows not to read anything I post related to Christmas shopping, and I trust that she won’t read this lol. I think she’ll really only read something if I send that specific post to her lol.
Alrighty, I lost track of the time so I need to get these orders done, they’re due pretty soon. I’ll be back for my “Writing Goals” post, since I haven’t posted one in a bit. Catch ya later.

@tammys85 I agree, nothing wrong with getting a head start on anything really. Especially Christmas because I don't know about you, but leaving Christmas presents to the last couple of weeks is so stressful due to the crowds in stores. Gives me anxiety. I say good for you for getting a major head start! You're going to do such a great job!
Thank you so much for the mention and kind words. Best wishes on your stockings. If you wish to share, I would love to see them when they are done!

Thank you so much! I need to order the actual stockings soon, plus start my actual Christmas shopping. I love Christmas, and I know it's not even Thanksgiving yet, but I feel like it's coming up too fast lol. But I'm excited to fill the stockings for everyone!

Good that you are starting early.
Plus, it is nice that you have a list to keep track of what you got for everyone and also to keep track on your expenses.

@tammys85 back when I was giving gifts, I would shop as early as August. October would be a late start for me.

This will be the first Christmas my husband and Stepson have lived with us so I am looking forward to decorating the tree different this year. I have a neat hunting theme idea.
I saw Christmas decorations out at Walmart a few days ago.
Is your mom on here too or just reads what you write?

I have a feeling that Christmas is going to sneak up on us this year. As it is, the entire year has been a blur. But I like the idea of at least getting the stocking stuffers out of the way. Now, do I go out and shop or order everything??

I feel like it's already sneaking up on me. I've bought a lot of stocking stuffers, but I need to start on the actual presents soon. As for going out or ordering, that would be up to you and what's most comfortable and convenient for you. I've been doing a little of both with the stocking stuffers, but I'll probably wind up ordering most (if not all) of the main Christmas presents online.
