What You're Really Saying when You "Thank God"

We had several freezes last night, the first of which caused the power to go out.
We expected to lose power two-or-three more times, but we haven't yet. I truly expect that it's because of the thankless (other than a salary) work of the workers at the energy-company ... I think it's Oklahoma Gas & Electric---could be Oklahoma Natural Gas (I don't handle the bill-paying, so I don't know).
That's how God works. (Not sure how I made that 'leap in logic,' but just go with it ) Following his footsteps, we are saved from our struggles-etc. (Yes, sometimes it's "us saving ourselves"; but usually it's more 'helping others,' for which they thank God.) https://countingmyblessings.com/best-ways-thank-god/

And when you thank It, you're NOT thanking those who DON'T choose it.

@mythociate I read what you said. I'm just sharing how I see the situation. I can be happy in what I was able to do but why should I take the credit for the results when the boss has given me the job and provided all the materials for me to do the job that wielded the good results that have benefited myself and others?

@kanuck1 Because it wouldn't have gotten done right unless you were there.

Amazing ... how people stay blind to what I'm saying, when they're more interested in telling me what they think they know.
Maybe you'll see what I'm saying if I explain it with a question---if your boss gives you a difficult task to complete, and you have a hard time doing it; do you want the people you help to thank YOU for your struggle, or do you want them to thank your boss?

That's not how God works. It's more like he 'leaves the gift for whoever can pick it up.'

I thank God that I'm still alive and my parents are alive

That's nice. And all the people who contributed their work to your survival take the appropriate measure of thanks from God's treasury offered to them

And I'm telling you who-all you're really thanking
