How do you feel when someone reminds or asks you to put your mask on properly?

Since this pandemic started it has become a norm for us to protect ourselves with a mask so as to not get the virus. Today as I was buying electricity by the gas station, the petrol assistant asked a lady if she could kindly put on her mask properly as she was busy talking to someone who was a bit of a distance from her. This guy asked the lady politely but her response shocked me, she got so furious and told the guy he will be the first to die from the virus between the two of them. I felt like that was not a nice thing to say as the guy asked politely, what are your views on this response? how do u feel when told to wear your mask?

Thats exactly what i thought, i mean she could have just said thank and put on her mask but instead, she chose to be so rude.

I haven't been told to wear my facemask properly or corrected to use it over my nose. I am such a maniac when it comes to do things right. However I would not dare to remind somebody to use their facemask properly because people these days are really rude. So I don't need to go under such situation as the one you mentioned in your discussion.

I totally understand your stance but keep in mind she was talking to someone far and she was close to the petrol attendant that's why he reminded her. I was really touched by the way she spoke to him it was very unnecessary honestly

I doubt this happens to me as I wear my face mask and face shield properly.
I'd appreciate the concern though.

@Chazzygal I understand your point.
There is always a kind way of telling people things.

In the first place, I make sure that my mask and my face shield are always worn correctly. Not to comply with the rules but to protect my self and others.
The stubborn people who refuse to wear masks are, pardon me, pathetic. They are in denial that the CoViD-19 is a lethal disease thriving on humans as host.

@Chazzygal The arrogant and despicably stubborn people argue that wearing a mask violates freedom of choice. Sigh. That is not even the issue. The concern is that we humans can compromise each other's well being.

I wear my mask even when I go throw out the garbage. It makes me angry with others do not or carry their masks with them or put them down to talk on their phones or just put them down instead of up where they should be covering their faces. It is not fair. I follow rules, so, why can't they. Not shocking because here I was in a grocery store once and this really elderly man had no mask on and was going to step over the line to closer to where I was and when I said something he said he was not afraid and i said I was. When the clerk asked him to step back he did. They respect clerks but not others. People do not care that do not wear masks or social distance. They think they will not get it. People are very defensive when you point things out that they should do and they do not care so they get snotty. I have had that on occasion with people. I saw this young man take his off and I said something and he put his thumb up but left it off and kept looking behind to see if I was walking behind him. I kept my distance. I do not like those that do not wear them or take them off or carry them while I wear mine and have to dodge people so I could not get anything from them. I was in the post office once and this girl took her mask off when she sneezed or coughed. I saw one once sneeze into their mask and that was fine with me. People will do what they want or follow others not doing the right thing I feel.

As a matter of fact while I was out I saw many with their masks down to their chin or not worn right so pointed it out and some put it right and one shook her head. I will never understand people. I see why there are those that prefer animals.

I don't know how I would feel about that. I know when I went to Ikea they were asking a couple of people to cover their nose with their masks. it is all for safety's sake.

my shock came from the way she spoke to him, wouldn't you say it was rude and unnecessary?

To be honest, I'd probably be the one to tell someone to wear their mask properly...
But I rarely do anymore. If people still haven't learned how to wear a mask properly yet after months of government, health personnel, and media people broadcasting the do's and don'ts, then they're not going to listen to me.
I'll just wear mine properly, and try my best to distance myself from them... ... ... ...
