Christmas Decorations in the Pandemic- will you decorate?

In our homes, we usually put up the Christmas tree after November 2, which is the commemoration of All saints day in the Philippines. One of my friends said she doesn't feel like putting up decorations because of what is happening. She's one lady who would adorn her home with fancy decors on Christmas and not using any recycled decors. In our Office we will still be putting up decorations and will use mostly decors which we used last year and just purchase replacement of blasted lights. We will be putting a simple Christmas decoration in our house to celebrate the season. How will you decorate your homes this time of pandemic?

My wife and daughter have already put up a Christmas tree in the living room and a Christmas wreath on the front entrance door.

@florelway My wife and daughter took advantage of the week off of my daughter to do the decorating. On the other hand many other houses put up halloween decorations yesterday because they celebrate that day here and which the children look forward to fir the trick or treat.

@sunrisefan Halloween is not that celebrated here as compared to other places. But we celebrated the feast of All Saint's day and All Souls day on November 1 and 2, but it's a different one this year in the Philippines because cemeteries are ordered closed from Oct. 29 to November 4 due to pandemic.

@florelway I fully agree with you.Every year I join my Christian friends to decorate their houses. However this year the decoration will be very simple. This year we will not even go to the hilltop to celebrate a picnic we used to do till last year.

@Shivram59 why can you go to the hilltop? Are you still prevented from going out?

Exactly, my point is a tradition must still remain. What could be lacking is the extravagant show of decors and lights. Maybe a simple decoration is enough.

@porwest that is one task that needs skill. One must know how to handle electrical stuffs. Wonder what could be the inn thing this year. Every year there are different types of lights that appear in the market.

We are keeping decorations to a minimum this year for everything . . . keeping it as simple as possible (which makes the clean up easy too). We probably won't get to Christmas decoration until closer to Christmas . . . probably just a tree and some small Christmas knick knacks to put around the house.

That's good at least to keep up with the tradition of celebrating the spirit of Christmas and how important it is in our lives.

@florelway I do think decorations can lift your spirits up - make things a bit cheery anyway. But this year it's not necessary for us to go all out.

I am planning to set up the Christmas lights outside this evening. Last year I was busy making the fruit baskets so I was not able to set up any decoration at home. But I hope I could do it this year.

We should do it for kids to remember this festive season. The pandemic has caused so much that depriving ourselves of merriment is.not.good.

We don't celebrate Christmas, so we don't decorate. It's going to be very subdued holidays for many this year.
