Day 88
Promise 547
Acts 2:14 But Peter, standing up with the eleven, lifted up his voice, and said unto them, Ye men of Judaea, and all ye who dwell at Jerusalem, be this known unto you, and hearken to my words:
15 For these are not drunken, as ye suppose, seeing it is but the third hour of the day.
16 But this is that which was spoken by the prophet Joel;
17 And it shall come to pass in the last days, says God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh: and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams:
18 And on my servants and on my hand maidens I will pour out in those days of my Spirit; and they shall prophesy:
19 And I will show wonders in heaven above, and signs in the earth beneath; blood, and fire, and vapor of smoke:
20 The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the great and notable day of the Lord come:
21 And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved.
People judge others on appearances before they learn the facts of the situation.
Jews from many nations flooded Jerusalem for the feast of Pentecost. They didn’t understand what God did when they heard the apostles speaking in their native tongues and supposed they were drunk.
Peter stood up and corrected the matter, showing from Scripture what God did among them and told them what to expect in the last days. Then he told them if they called on the name of Jesus, they would be saved.
As Christians, you know it was the beginning when the Holy Spirit would dwell with all Christians who accepted Jesus as Savior and Lord. No longer would they need to wait for the great outpouring, because it took place on the first Pentecost after Jesus’ ascension into heaven.
The people listened to Peter and accepted Jesus as Savior and Lord and were baptized that same hour.
Acts 2:41 Then they that gladly received his word were baptized: and the same day there were added unto them about three thousand souls.
Have you accepted Jesus as Savior and Lord? If so, you too have the Holy Spirit dwelling in you. If not, you can have the same thing these first Christians had when they confessed Jesus as Savior and Lord.
Romans 10:9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
10 For with the heart man believes unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
Let’s pray: Father, let your Word be poured out and salvation come to all those who accept Jesus as Savior and Lord. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.

Praying that more and more people will come to know Jesus Christ of Nazareth. And accept Him as Lord and Savior.
